Members join us from all over the country and locally to make a difference for youth. People join for several different reasons-- a desire to give back to the community, exploring an interest in teaching or related fields, gaining experience, or earning a scholarship. You won't get rich by doing AmeriCorps, but the rewards are substantial.
Our program year is 10.5 months long, beginning in September of each year. Members join us full-time and are placed in schools and community organizations, working with youth and adults of our community to improve education and skills.
