Intermountain AmeriCorps strives to become one of the more innovative programs in the state of Washington. Because of this goal, Intermountain works hard to improve upon its program structure from year to year. As a program we want to offer its members more variety and more chances to see and help the communities they serve.
With this goal in mind, Intermountain has added elements over the years to make this possible. Monday through Thursday members will be at their sites. On Friday’s members will be doing a variety of things.
Some of our Friday’s our members are at their sites and on other Friday’s we meet as a large group for member trainings, networking and planning community service and civic engagement projects.
Members have found that Friday meetings are not only a chance to learn some new information or skills, but also a good way to get out into their communities. During the first two months of service, most Friday’s will be spent all together as a large group. This is so we can deliver multiple trainings and also a good time for members to connect and get to know other members.
Past members have found the layout of our program to work well in helping them get to know their fellow members and the communities they serve in. It helps to form the closeness and positive relationships our organization is known for producing. As a program we strive to be more than just a working experience for our members. It is a chance to develop new and strong friendships and to grow personally and professionally as an individual. |
