Community Corps

The Community Corps is a program funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and serves communities of North Central Washington affected by the economic downturn. Although intended as a one-year program, these positions may be funded for the 2010-11 service term as well.

For the 2009-10 service year, 12 members are serving with nonprofit agencies, providing services and outreach to low-income community members. While most of our members focus on serving the youth of our communities, Community Corps members have the opportunity to work with people of all ages, primarily adults and families in need.

Those who become a part of this effort gain extensive experience in the social service field.

Community Corps Positions:

Although the positions we offer change from year to year, reading through the descriptions of some positions in which members are currently serving will give you a good idea of what being a Community Corps member is like. For the 2010-11 service year, the Community Corps will become part of the Service and Education Team, and many of the sites listed below will continue to be sites in the coming year. The exact sites available will be posted in early June.
